Dr. Mark Freher joined Florida
Electrophysiology Associates the fall of 2003. Dr. Freher went to college
at Duke University where he first became interested in Medicine.
Following college, her attended Rush University Medical School in Chicago.
In medical school, Dr. Freher was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor
society (AOA). Membership in AOA is only offered to the top 10% of all
medical students in the United States and is awarded to exemplary medical
students with the highest grades who also excel with leadership, ethics and
social skills.Following medical school, Dr. Freher completed his internal
medicine residency, his cardiology fellowship and his electrophysiology
fellowship at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. During his
training he further distinguished himself by publishing new
electrophysiology research regarding circadian patterns in the heart.
Following completion of his training Dr. Freher moved to Florida
and he joined Florida Electrophysiology Associates in September, 2003.
Dr. Freher has particular clinical interests in complex catheter
ablations including curative ablations of atrial fibrillation. In his
spare time he enjoys reading, computers and sports.
